BISHOP, MRS. WINIFRED L., age 82, of Huntsville, Alabama, died Saturday, July 12, 1997 at her residence. The funeral will be Monday, July 14, 1997 at 9:30 A.M. at Laughlin Chapel with the Rev. Mack Finney officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery (Birmingham, Alabama).

Mrs. Bishop was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She and her husband "Bud" opened Bishop's Flowers in the late 1940's. In 1963 they moved to Huntsville. With outstanding creative ability, work ethic and reliability, Bishop's Flowers became a prominnt business in Huntsville. She also taught many floral design seminars in the Southeast and received many awards including Alabama Florist of the Year in 1973. She was loved and respected by her family, many friends and fellow florists.

Survivors include: two daughters, Ann Bishop Griffin of Ocala, Fla., Virginia Bishop Heaton of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Dr. Marvin D. Bishop, III of Huntsville, Ala.; sister, Louise Hewell of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Barbara Griffin, Karen Hollon, Bill Griffin, Michael Griffin, Elizabeth Henson, Susan Heaton, Allen Heaton, Emily Bishop, and Leigh Ann Heaton; great grandchildren, Bill and Sam Hollon. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at her residence. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is directing.
