Rev. Gregory Ashe was educated in Buffalo and entered the Jesuits. He made first vows in 1895 but left the Jesuits in 1902. He went to Niagara University and was ordained in 1906, after which he went to work in Texas and elsewhere. He finally became a priest of the Diocese of Los Angeles-San Diego.

He was rector at St. Patrick Church and St. Mary Church both in San Diego and at St. Patrick in Los Angeles.

In 1930, he returned to Buffalo, and helped the pastor of St. Lucy Church. Father Ashe died rather suddenly in 1934. He remained a priest of the Diocese of Los Angeles-San Diego.

Survived by sister Hannah Bresnahan and brother John Ashe, both of Buffalo.
