Mary Alice Hamer, a longtime resident of Tullytown, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Silver Lake Nursing Home. She was 81.

Mary was a registered nurse who worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Jersey, and later worked at the RX Place in Levittown Shopping Center.

She enjoyed going to Atlantic City for the casinos, but she was most passionate about spending time with her family, especially her great- grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending the weekends at Buffy's house with Buffy and her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Winfield and Sarah Carmen; her husband, Everett (Ed) Hamer; and her daughter, Lynda Wilcox.

She is survived by her grandchildren whom she loved, and who loved her very much, Buffy Gibson and husband, Timothy, and Rose (Sally) Wilcox and life partner, Nicole Sytnik. She will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Madison Wilcox, Carly, Kyle, and Christopher Gibson and Taylor and Logan Sytnik.

The family would also like to thank Debbie Domingo, Mary's caregiver for many years.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to the family from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. Saturday July 17, at Emily United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Road, Levittown.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her name, to Odyssey Hospice, 512 Township Line Road, 305 Valley Square Bldg. 2, Blue Bell, PA 19422.

Condolences may be expressed to the Web site below. Molden Funeral Chapel, Bristol.

As a personal note, Mary was my mother's, Grace Hubbs Leigh's. 1st cousin and my 1st cousin once removed. Her daughter Lynda Wilcox was my closest cousin and I spent many wonderful times with her family. Thanks for the love and caring Mary.
