SHAMOKIN DAM – Mary Louise Fry Rickard, 68, of 10th Avenue, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1993, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Jan. 19, 1924 in West Columbia, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Alah Knapp Fry. In 1944, she married Paul Rickard. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in June.

She was a graduate of Wahama high School, Mason, W.Va., Class of 1942.

Mrs. Rickard lived in the New Haven and St. Mary's areas of West Virginia before moving to Pennsylvania in 1978.

She was a member of Shamokin Dam United Methodist Church and the Kings Daughters Class. She was a volunteer with The Mustard Seed Thrift Shop Program and Meals on Wheels Program, Selinsgrove.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharon F. Girton of Shamokin Dam and Debra K. Hungate of Vienna, W.Va.; four grandchildren; two brothers, William Franklin of Mason and Samuel Fry of Pomeroy, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Louise Rickard.

A memorial service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Sherman and High streets, Selinsgrove by the Rev. David Y. Norris.

Visitors may call from 7 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Pomeroy Street, Mason, by the Rev. Robert Dille. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery, New Haven.

Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the Shamokin Dam United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or American Heart Association.

NOTE: Mary lived most of her life in Mason County WV. She was very active in the New Haven United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting at Peniel Church.
