Roger A. Cotton, 47, 1623 Butte Avenue, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon while working near Lincoln.

Mr. Cotton and his brother Don had owned and operated the Cotton Housemoving Co. since 1955, and for ten years prior to that they were in partnership with their father, Arthur Cotton, in the same company.

Born Sept. 30, 1918 in Waubay, S.D., Mr. Cotton came to Helena in 1937. He married Edna Johnson May 1, 1945. He served in the Army during World War II and was active in stock car racing for many years up to the time of his death.

Mr. Cotton is survived by his widow; a son, Dennis; three daughters, Carol, Debbie and Becky, all at the family home; a brother, Don, Helena; two sisters, Virginia Kuklinski, Seattle, and Arnette Metzger, Hartsdale, N.Y., and numerous other relatives. Another son, George, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Retz Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. George Harper, St. Paul's Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Don Pare, Harley McDaniel, Everett McDaniel, Mike Lovely, John Woods, all of Helena, and Tom Gerleman, Bozeman.
