She was born January 2, 1938 to Nina Marie Parry and Charles Edward Platt in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She married the love of her life, her eternal companion, Max Spencer Osborn, on March 16, 1957. Our mother was known as the world's mother and grandmother. She was a military mother for twenty years and adopted about every GI and missionary she met. She also adopted all of our friends and their children and no one ever had to sleep without a roof over their head or food in their bellies. She sacrificed to help others and to make sure that her family was fed and clothed.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions in music and primary. She taught us to love the hymns. She also believed that no one could ever have just one cookie. You always had to have one in each hand.
She leaves behind her husband of fifty-three years, Max, children, Sandy (Jeff) Baker of West Valley City, Tim (Gail) Osborn of American Fork, Jeanna Osborn Hollingshead of West Jordan, Michelle (Jeff) Keller of Sandy, Lorena Osborn of Sandy, John Osborn of Sandy, Terrance (Christy) Osborn of West Jordan, and Stacey (Joe) Day of Sandy, special adopted son Todd Stubbs, twenty-eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Jim Platt; and sisters Carol Birrell, Norma Cummins and Lynette Gardiner. Her legacy will always be felt through her needlework. She lovingly crocheted blessing dresses for all her granddaughters, heirlooms to all who were blessed to receive one. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Normand, daughter Debra, and grandson Christopher Sean.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy Riverbend Ward Chapel, 8825 South 150 West, Sandy.
