Lee Bilbrey and Mr and Mrs H L Bilbrey were called to Cookeville last Thursday by the sudden death of Lee's mother, Mrs K L Bilbrey.
Funeral services for Mrs Bilbrey were held at the M E Church South in Cookeville on Friday October 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev Dean Stroud officiating.
Mrs Bilbrey, who had been in ill health for several years, was found dead by her daughter, Miss Mildred, about noon last Thursday, October 1, when she returned from school. Mrs Bilbrey apparently met death at her own hands as she was found lying on the bed with a pistol, one shot fired from it, lying on her chest.
Mr Bilbrey started the firm of Bilbrey Bros Hardware Co here several years ago, and the family has made its home here for several years.
The deceased is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Dr Raphael, Nashville; Lee, Putnam county; and a daughter, Miss Mildred, at home; 3 brothers, James Williams, Monterey; Frank Williams, Livingston; Shirley Williams, Rickman; and a sister, Mrs Luke West, Rickman.
