Mrs. Janet Lynn Drayton, 57, of La Porte, died at 6:34 p.m. on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at LaPorte Hospital.
Mrs. Drayton was born Nov. 27, 1952 to Harold and Jean (Noakes) Collings.
On Oct. 10, 1981, in Kingsbury, she married V. Michael Drayton, who survives.
She was a third grade teacher at Kingsbury Elementary school for 36 years. A 1970 La Porte High School graduate, graduated from Taylor University in 1974 and received her Masters from Valparaiso University. A member of La Porte Hospital Foundation, La Porte County Symphony. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, loved her dog, "Spencer" and loved gardening.
She leaves behind husband, V. Michael Drayton; two sons, Christopher M. Drayton, London England and Phillip A. G. Drayton of Bloomington, Indiana; parents, Harold and Jean Collings, Kingsbury; two brothers, Richard (Lynn) Collings, Carmel, Indiana and Ray (Ruth) Collings, Lawrenceville, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by grandparents
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at Essling Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Essling Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to La Porte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. St. Rd 2, La Porte, IN 46350 or to La Porte Hospital Foundation, 1007 Lincoln Way, La Porte, IN 46350.
