Lavon Noel Duff was born in Hedrick, Oklahoma on June 6, 1916, to Abraham Gray & Maude Alice Kelley Duff. He passed away peacefully at home on June19, 2015.


He graduated from high school in Stafford, Oklahoma in 1934. On August 30, 1941, he married his beloved wife Ruth Helen Stowers. In 1957 they settled in Nampa & Lavon spent the next 17 years employed by Meridian Wood Products, finally retiring from Graybill Wholesale in 1981.


He was a faithful member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church, being one of the oldest active members.


Lavon enjoyed life and had been a member of the Winnebago Camping Group. He was an avid gardener, always providing plenty for his entire family and continued to stay active even mowing his own yard until he was 97. He had an excellent sense of humor, was sharp witted and quicker than any calculator in a game of dominos. He was truly loved by all, young and old and was preciously know by one little great-grandson as his "great big grandpa".


A son, two sisters, two brothers, his parents, and his wife of nearly 64 years preceded him in death.


Two daughters, Judith Tucker (Michael) of Nampa, Brenda McMahan (Michael) of Monroe, LA, a son Richard Duff of Nampa, 8 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and many friends will miss him greatly.


A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa.
