THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, October 24, 1999, page 6A: 'James 'Jim' Adams, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25 at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Haskel England officiating. Visitation will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. today at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. Adams was born Sept. 3, 1919 in Paris to John and Myrtle Gross Adams. He married Gladys Lucille Maynard Adams Dec. 25, 1941 in Hugo, Okla. He served in the Navy during WW II and was a retired printer from Uarco. He was a member of the Bonham Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters-in-law, James P. Adams and wife Linda of Duncanville, Lanny Adams and wife Linda of Paris; grandsons Jon Steven Adams, Jeffery Adams and wife Suzie; granddaughters Kristi Adams Streit and husband Jamie, Regina Adams Gilbreath and husband Rob, and Melanie Adams; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Timmy Lee Adams and grandson, Michael Adams.'
