MRS. CLARA VODICKA
Mrs. Clara Rosina Vodicka, 86, of the Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa, Iowa, formerly of 2085 Foye St., Dubuque, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.
Her husband, Joseph F., died in June 1962.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church here, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Mortuary, where the Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Vodicka was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, and has been employed at the Sorbeau Manufacturing Co. here for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Rosary Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Dubuque Post No. 6.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roselyn Bardon, and a grandson, both of Dubuque.

Married Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, May 14, 1918, at eight o'clock, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in this city Rev. J. H. Brinkman united in marriage in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, Miss Clara Roth and Mr. Joseph Vodicka, both of Guttenberg. The attendants were Miss Gertrude Miller, friend of the happy couple, and Mr. Joseph Roth, brother of the bride, both of Guttenberg. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Theo. Roth, of Guttenberg. She was born and grew to young womanhood here. She is a young lady who is held in high esteem by all in this community. The groom is a son of Mrs. Anna Vodicka, of Prairie du Chien, Wis, and he is a young man who has made many friends, while a resident of Guttenberg, and he has won the respect of all who know him. After the marriage ceremony at the church a reception was held in honor of the happy young couple at the home of the bride's mother, at which a number of guests were present, and most pleasant hours were spent by all. The happy young couple will reside in Guttenberg and their many friends wish them a long and happy wedded life.
