Carley E Bilbrey, 67, World War veteran, passed away at Thayer Veteran's Hospital, Nashville Sunday night. He had been in and out of the hospital for several months for treatment.
Soon after his marriage and move to Cumberland county, he joined with his brother, H I and K L, to form Bilbrey Hardware and Furniture Co. He left the business due to ill health; on his recovery, he was employed by the State Highway Department.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 28 at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with burial at City cemetery.
He is survived by his wife; their son, Edward, Harriman; a grandson; 3 brothers, H I, here; Kasper L, Cookeville; Shirley, Akron; 3 sisters, Mrs Ernest Gregg, Algood, Mrs S T Benson, Livingston; Mrs Burr Smith, Rickman.
