Mary Ruth Cox was born on July 31, 1943 in Marion, IN to Leo and Esther (Burgan) Cox. Both parents have preceded her in death.
Mary Ruth Cox, Ph. D., was an English professor and chair of the Humanities Division at Bartlesville Wesleyan College (now Oklahoma Wesleyan University), Assistant Dean of Academics at the University of Minnesota at Morris, Associate Provost at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at North Carolina Wesleyan.
Mary Ruth is survived by her husband, Bill Brunton, Fargo, ND; daughter, Jerolyn (Jim) Bogear, Sacramento, CA; son, Ron Brown, Jr., Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren, Lauren (Chris) Snider, Marion, Indiana; Shaphan and Gabrielle Bogear, Sacramento, CA; Austin and Kendra Brown, Sacramento, CA; sisters, Marty (Max) Courtney, Warsaw, IN; Rachel (Harvey) Herring, Marion, IN.
Memorial Service: Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Burial: Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN.
