Thomas Dewey Stansberry, 58, a resident of Charleston, passed away Saturday morning, June 9, 2007, in a local hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Bradley County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona Mae Jackson Stansberry and Dewey Lee Stansberry; sister, Evelyn Lorene Burris; brothers: William Lee Stansberry and Gene Tuney Stansberry; and a great-nephew, Colby Stansberry.

He was a graduate of the Charleston High School.

He worked at Jackson Chair Co., Hardwood Frames and J. H. Pallet Co.

He enjoyed watching wrestling, baseball, basketball, football, game shows and also enjoyed fishing.

He was a member of the Unity Church of God.

Survivors include his sisters: Ruby Belle Thomas, Barbara Mae Burris and her husband, George, and Nancy Ann Sneed and her husband, William, all of Cleveland; brothers: Bobby Stansberry and his wife, Wilma, the Rev. Kenneth W. Stansberry and his wife, Jeanette, all of Cleveland, James "J.D." Stansberry and Don Stansberry, both of Charleston; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Stansberry of Charleston and Betty Stansberry of Athens; brother-in-law, Joe Burris of Calhoun; special nephew, Jeff Stansberry and his wife, Missy, of Cleveland; special cousin, Regina Stevens of Bridgeport, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The remembrance of life graveside service and interment was at noon today, June 11, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Grady Simpson and Eric Wayne Stansberry officiating.

Pallbearers were Donnie Stansberry, Charles Stansberry, Dennis Gates, Timmy Stansberry, Josh Stansberry, Tyler Stansberry, David Rose and Doug Simpson.

The North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
