Sarah Rebecca Minier was born in Illinois September 9, 1844, and when two years of age she made the long trip across the plains with her parents by ox team to California. Three years later they came to Oregon on a sailing vessel and settled in Marion County.
In 1864 she was married to John Conlee and to this union six children were born, three of whom are living, namely, Mrs. Ella Jenson, of Carlton, Mrs. Effie L. Christenson, of Newberg and Wm. Conlee, of Hillsboro. One brother is also living, Joel Minier, of Seaside.
Her husband died in 1899 and later she married Andrew Christenson who survives her.
Death came to her at her home in Newberg on Friday, March 5, and on the following Sunday funeral services were conducted at the home of Rev. George C. Ritchey. The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased, namely, Cassius, Frank, William, Ernest, Thurston and Benjamin Yergen.
