Ralph E. Stager dies this morning
Ralph E. Stager, 69, of 575 E. Main street, Berne, died at 6:45 a.m. this morning while enroute to work at the Gerber Furniture Co. at Bluffton. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Stager was a member of the First Mennonite church.
He was born on August 15, 1903, in Bluffton, O., the son of William F. and Katherine Baumgartner-Stager, and was married to Irene Schneck in October of 1925. She died in the early 1960’s. he later married Esther Lehman on September 15, 1972, and she survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Edgar (Della) Neuenschwander of Gardena, Calif.; and one brother, Howard Stager of Bluffton, O. Two brothers, two sisters and one child preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite Church chapel with Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander officiating. Burial will be in the M.R.E. cemetery. Friends may call at the Yager funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
