Mr. Hoene, a well known resident of that vicinity and a member of the Borchers Lutheran Church, was a native of Huntersville, near Batesville, but had lived in the community where he died for a number of years. Although he had suffered from heart trouble for about twelve years his death came quite suddenly.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon and at 2 O'clock from the Borchers church, in charge the Rev. F. C. Piel, pastor. Burial in the Borchers church cemetery.
Mr. Hoene was born September 30, 1863, the son of the late Arnold and Margaret (Newkirk) Hoene and was married February 23, 1887 at Borchers church to Anna Meitler, who survives.
In addition to the widow he leaves the following: two daughters, Mrs. Nora Venitz, Indianapolis and Mrs. Malinda Kleffman, at home: Two brothers, Henry, living near Corland and Lewis, of Iowa; two step-sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cummings, of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Mary Wischmeyer, of Indianapolis. Six grandchildren also survive. A son, Walter, passed away seven years ago and a daughter, Emma, died in 1891.He married to Anna Maria Dorothea Meitler in 1887. They had four children:
1. Emma Hoene (???? - ????)
2. Walter William Hoene (1888 - 1927)
3. Melinda Hoene (1889 - 1982)
4. Nora Hoene (1892 - 1980)
