U.S. Navy veteran

He retired from Conrail after 38 years of service.

He attended the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church and was a member of the American Legion Lansing Chapter, Mid-Michigan Railroad Club at Turkeyville, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Eaton County 4-H Shooting Sports, Eaton County Conservation Club and the Gun Club of Grass Lake.

He served as the Brookfield Township supervisor for two years and was a member of the Narrow Lake Association.

An avid reader, he was knowledgeable about wars and conflicts involving the U.S., including Civil War history. He had been a gunsmith and hunter safety instructor for many years and loved to hunt, fish and listen to country music.

Passed away at age 68 at the Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, after a lengthy illness.
