Elizabeth Berlin was the daughter of Paul Berlin and Nancy Thoman Berlin. She married William S. Reed and bore eleven children. After raising her own, she then raised her grandchild, Rosella Kahle, whose mother died two weeks after her birth. Rosella remained with her until she died and did a great deal of family history research. Elizabeth preferred to wear dark clothing, despised alcohol and was considered "quick tempered." Great detail of her life with William, which was intially gathered by Rosella Kahle, was expanded upon and preserved by descendant, Judith Etzel King, who also extensively interviewed her grandparents, Ralph Reed and Margaret Parnham Reed. Multiple photographs of Elizabeth exist with Reed and Kahle family history materials.
