On August 7, 1948, she married Jerome Smith in Navarino. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2009.
She was an active member of St. Clement's Parish in various capacities.
She enjoyed going out to lunch with family and friend, especially her grandson, Arik. She also enjoyed quilting, reading and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her three daughters, Nancy Oostdyke, Amy Heyman (special friend, Ted Potochnik) and Barb (Michael) Schuette; two grandchildren, Anna (Travis) Andersen and Arik Schuette; and three sisters, Marie Gerber, Beth Olson, and Markie Burby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, John William Blazek.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Theresa on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Clement Catholic Church (721 N. 6th Street) with the Rev. James Connell officiating.
~Saint Theresa's Prayer-May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on that love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, Dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.~
