Mayne Arnold, 84, formerly of Tabor, Minnesota, died Friday, June 19, 1998 in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lakota, ND.

Marie Annie Vonasek was born on December 18, 1913 , the daughter of Frank and Rose (Kluzak) Vonasek in Northland Township, Polk County, Minnesota. Marie was better known by family and friends as Mayme. Mayme attended school in Tabor Township, Polk County, Minnesota. Mayme and William Arnold were married on November 7, 1933 in Tabor, Minnesota. They farmed in Northland Township, Polk county and spent winters in McAllen, Texas.

William Arnold passed away on May 3, 196l. Mayne worked as a cook for Delta Zeta sorority house at UND, American Crystal Sugar and decorated cakes. She moved to East Grand Forks, MN in 1993 and to Lakota in 1997 because of the flood.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean (Ed) Herda of Crary, ND; three grandchildren; four great-grandchilden; a sister, Martha Kuzel of East Grand Forks, MN; and brothers, Jim Vonasek of Burnsville, MN and Joe Vonasek of Tabor, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arnold; son, Larry Arnold; and brothers, Emil, Frank, Albert and Carl.

Services were held on Tuesday, June 19, 1998 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tabor, MN.

Burial was at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery in Tabor, Minnesota.
