Florence Elizabeth Pigg, daughter of Jonathan Taylor and Mary Polly (Tucker) Pigg, was born December 19,1873, near Lucerne, Mo. When about seven years of age, she moved with her parents to the Center Grove community where she spent all her younger days. She was united in marriage to Francis Seymour Lowry, August 5, 1894, To this union two children were born, Mary A. Cooley, of Lucerne, Mo., and Addie Dickson of Newtown, Mo. She united with the Center Grove church in 1893 and remained a faithful member until death. In later years they moved to Newtown, where her husband preceded her in death in March 1947. The past three years she spent in Neals Hospital in Trenton, Mo., where she could have special care. She departed this life at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 20 days. She leave to mourn her departure 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, July 16, at the Center Grove Baptist Church east of Newtown. Burial was in the nearby cemetery beside her husband. MILAN (Mo.)
