Evelyn Dolores Mayes, 76, of Fayetteville died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Dry Fork, the daughter of Jess Noble and Gladys Maxwell Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her brother, J.N. Hawkins.
She was a retired office manager for Mayes Auto Service and a member of Highlands Community Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Mayes; a daughter, Rebecca Jane Silvis and husband Lonnie of Farmington; two sons, Chuck Mayes and Rick Mayes, both of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Andrew J. Mayes, Meredith Mayes Brunen, Tracy Wayne Silvis, Philip Todd Silvis, Jamie Michelle Mayes, Jenna Melody Mayes and Jodie Melissa Mayes; four great-grandchildren, Ashton Taylor Silvis, Benjamin Todd Silvis, Adam Lane Silvis and Ella Katherine Silvis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, online at www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
