Boyd, born July 10, 1909 in Oklahoma City, Ok. to William Thomas Loftin and Cora Alice Vestal Loftin. He passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 1987. Loftin is survived by his wife, Lois; five sons, William Boyd Loftin of Umatilla, Or., William Thomas Loftin of Mena, Ar., Robert Earl Loftin of Edmond, Ok., Daniel Boyd Loftin of Littleton, Co., Brian Neal Loftin of Littleton, Co.; two daughters, Marilyn Sue Jones of Laurens, S.C., Rebecca Lois Lambert of Pensacola, Fl.; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Midwest City. Loftin worked in the family business, LOFTIN COOKIE COMPANY from 1920 to 1932. He was owner and operator of his own trucking line from 1932 to 1940, operating under the ""Grandfather Permit''. Served in the Merchant Marines and the Army in World War II. He worked at Tinker Field after World War II and from there entered the building business. He was named Midwest City's BUILDER OF THE YEAR in 1957 and built commercial, residential and swimming pools in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri. His part in the building of Midwest City included the Midwest City Country Club, the Carter Building and the Burge Warehouse. Loftin served in Vietnam as an officer with the rank o f Colonel in 1966. He was owner and operator of Trailer Village, Inc. from 1963 to 1975. He retired in 1975, yet continued to make several trips to Old Mexico investigating the country's mineral rights. His last endeavor in this effort was in the summer of 1985. He contributed much to the community where he lived and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
