Mrs. Laura Pearl Brown, age 90 of Sugar Valley, Georgia, departed this life, Sunday April 25, 2021 at her home. She was born August 26, 1930 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Zack and Arcee Mae Sneed Goforth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bud" Brown Jr., sons, Johnny Dewayne Brown, Charles "Bim" Brown, brothers, H.L. Goforth, Clifford "Buck" Goforth, Homer Goforth, Charles Zack Goforth, Jr., sisters, Essie Lou Welch, Juanita Fields, Doris Faye Duckworth, grandchildren, Amanda Michelle Brown, Randy Davis, great grandson, Tyson Brown.
She is survived by her children, Marshall Barry and Karen Brown of Rocky Face, GA, Terry Allen and Sylvia Lynn Brown of Resaca, GA, Phillip Michael and Janice Lynn Brown of Sugar Valley, GA, Ronald Todd and Vickie Brown, Pearl Elaine and Michael Patterson, Tammy Marie and Earl Watkins of Dalton, GA; sister, Rose Cagle of Dalton, GA; 20 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Laura Pearl Brown will be held Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dewayne Smith, Reverend Chester Edwards and Reverend R.S. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Daniel Brown, Scottie Brown, Jason Patterson, Drew Brown, Garrett Kelley and Joshua Strickland serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Due to the national health crisis and the Covid – 19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
