Charles L. "Chuck" Austin, 53, of Polo, IL, and formerly of Reedsburg, WI, died Sat. Nov. 16, 1996 at the County General Hospital in Sterling. He was employed as a nursing home administrator for 20 years, most recently at Dixon Health Care in Dixon. He was born Sept. 6, 1943 in Ladysmith, WI to Louis and Alta (Mittlesteadt) Austin. He married Betty Luetkens on Sept. 14, 1968 in St. John Lutheran Church in Loganville, WI. He was a 1961 graduate of Webb High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #83 in Polo and the Dixon Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tina (Dave Bridegan) Austin of Loves Park and Tammy Austin of Polo.
