Funeral services for Frances L. Gelande, 67, of East Moline, are 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where she was a member. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum.

Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Gelande died Monday, March 30, 1998, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. She was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Moline, the daughter of Frank and Mary VanAcker Van Houtte. She married Albert Gelande Sept. 6, 1947, in Colona.

Frances had been in charge of the bookings and catering for the John Deere U.A.W. dinners for many years and had been a cook at Rudy's Tacos, East Moline, until 1996.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Mary Kowalik, Milan, Kathryn Cortez, East Moline; a son, Richard Gelande, Dover, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Rizzolo, Coal Valley; and brothers, Frank Van Houtte, Moline, Emil Van Houtte, Coal Valley, Joseph Van Houtte, Moline, and John Van Houtte, Colona.
