BOONSBORO - Mrs. Lela
May Hammond, 61, of Rt. 2,
died Sunday afternoon at
Washington County Hospital.
She was the widow of Roy A.
Hammond.
Born in Boonsboro, she was
the daughter of Vinton and
Edith Martz Jones.
She was a member of the
Zittlestown Church and the La-
dies Auxiliary of the Boonsboro
Fire Co.
She is survived by one
dughter, Mrs. Patricia Smith
of Hagerstown; one son, Donald
Hammond of Keedysville; one
sister, Miss Frances Jones of
Boonsboro; three brothers,
Melvin O. Jones and Woodrow
W. Jones, both of Boonsboro
and Thurman C. Jones of
Hagerstown; and four grand-
children.
Services will be held at 2
p.m. Wednesday at the Bast
Funeral Home in Boonsboro
with the Rev. Eugene Young
officiating. Burial will be in the
Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home
Tuesday night from 7 to 9.
