His burial record indicated the following information: death age 22; born Georgia; single; residence Mitchell County, Georgia; no effects; relative - William Barksdale, Albany, Daugherty County, Georgia; burial Nashville City Cemetery; grave #11152. After the war, William's remains were exhumed from Nashville City Cemetery and re-interred at Mount Olivet in the Confederate Section.
