Charles H. McLaughlin, Sr. age 78 of Canton, OH., passed away Friday evening in the Country Lawn Nursing Home in Navarre following an extended illness. Born in Cambridge, OH., on Nov. 30, 1921, he had lived the greater portion of his life in the Canton area. He was retired as Terminal Manager for the Youngstown Cartage Co. in Canton, retiring in 1983. He was preceded in death by parents, Homer and Faye McLaughlin and two sisters, Ruth Reynolds and Nellie Ledson. Survivors include his wife, Mary McLaughlin of the home; three sons, Charles McLaughlin Jr., and wife, Betty of Louisville, OH., Larry McLaughlin and Terrance Michael McLaughlin, both of Canton; his daughter, Sharon Brott of Cincinnati, OH.; a sister, Helen Maus of Canton; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. John R. North officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours at the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m.
