Jefferson City Post Tribune (MO) – Friday, July 30, 1993:

Jewell D. George, 61, Jamestown, died Thursday at Columbia Regional Hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Jamestown, a son of Allie D. and Hattie Mae Seifert George. He was married Oct. 23, 1954, to Mae Brizendine, who survives at the home.

He attended school in Jamestown and served in the Korean War. He was a farmer in the Jamestown community before working for 26 years with Marshall Feed Co. and California Feed and Farm Supply Co. in Jamestown. He was a member of California VFW Post No. 4345 and Lupus Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Peggy Stauffer, Topeka, Kan., Diane Althoff, California, Kay Dilse, Jamestown, and Shelia Block, Jefferson City; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Weber & Sons Funeral Home, California. The Revs. Ivan Dameron and Louis Odneal will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, with VFW services at 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Jewell D. George Memorial Fund.
