Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, January 23 at 1:30 at the Methodist church in Sutherland for Mrs. George Engelke with the Rev . Warren A. Bintz officiating.

Interment was in the Marcus-Amherst cemetery.

Mrs. Engelke passed away Tuesday, January 21.
Mrs. Luella Margaret Engelke, the daughter of Amos and Anna M. (Johannsen) Rogers was born October 9, 1903 in Calumet. As a child and youth she attended school in Calumet.
She was united in marriage to Donald A. Rae in February 1925 at Cherokee. To this union two daughters, Charlotte Ann and Margaret and two sons, Roger W. and Lyle A. were born. Through the years she had lived in the Calumet, Paullina communities and for twenty-four years in the Marcus community.
On Jul y 28, 1962, Mrs. Rae was married to George W. Engelke at Cherokee and the couple resided at Sutherland.
Mrs. Engelke was a remarkable woman. She possessed a genuine spirit of friendliness, an interest in
community affairs and in her church. She loved her home and children and cherished her many friends. She was a member of the Sutherland Methodist church and had been a member of the Grace Methodist church in Marcus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald A. Rae and two brothers, Carl and Reinhardt.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Engelke of Sutherland; two sons, Roger W. of New York, N.Y. and Lyle A. Rae of Harrison, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Charlotte Ann) Cantu of Torrance, California and Mrs. J.P. (Margaret V.) Brady of Lomita, California; a grandson, Paul Andrew Brady, born January 22, 1964,
Also surviving are a step-son William B . Engelke of Sutherland and two step-daughters, Mrs. William Cahil of Burlington, Iowa and Mrs. Paul Stewart of Eliot, Maine.
