Lawrence Christian Bauer of Ann Arbor, Age 47, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2010 after a brief battle with bladder cancer. He was born July 18, 1963 in Ann Arbor, son of the late Art and Shirley Bauer. Larry was born and raised in Ann Arbor and worked for the City of Ann Arbor for over 21 years, most recently in the Forestry Department. On September 20, 1986 Larry married Nancy Hunt, his high school sweetheart, and she survives. Survivors also include their children; Christian and Cameron, brothers and sisters; Terri (Thomas) Shankland, Cathy (Rick) Lowell, Steve (Susan) Bauer, Diane (Terrance) Rial, Kenneth Bauer, Ann Bauer, Ronald Bauer, Thomas Bauer, Gregory (Cady) Bauer and Andrew (Kylie) Bauer, mother in law, Anna Belle (Kevin) Hunt Comins, sister in law, Elizabeth (John) Fillinger and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two sisters; Patricia Smith and Barbara Bauer, his father in law, Charles Hunt and one nephew. Larry was a loving husband and father. He was from a large family and enjoyed all the times they were together. We will miss his smile and genuine love for all of us. Larry had a vibrant personality and he never met a stranger as he could talk to anyone. Even at the end of his life he did his best to comfort those of us he was leaving behind.
