The Beismans' youngest child, Carl IV, enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18. He was stationed overseas in the European theater for 2 years.
Carl IV was reported missing as of 16 Jan 1945. He was taken prisoner by the Germans. He died on 20 Jan 1945 in a Nazi prison camp of wounds received in action.
Carl's parents were informed of their son's death by the War Department in early March of 1945. Carl IV was eventually buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial in Saint-Avold, Lorraine Region, France.
At the time of her death at St. Joseph's Hospital, Nora was 64 years, 8 months and 17 days old. She was survived by her husband, Carl; 1 son, John of Batchtown; 1 brother, Henry Kinder of Brussels; and 3 sisters, Emma Halemeyer of Brussels, Lizzie Brodbeck of Hamburg, and Frederika Kinder of Louisiana, Missouri.
Visitation was held after 1 p.m. on 08 Jun 1956 at Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. Funeral services were conducted there at 2 p.m. the following afternoon. Nora was buried next to her husband, Carl, who passed away in 1970.
