The Montgomery Hager Cemetery
is located at Six Mile, Boone Co,
West Virginia.

Husband of Vallie Vennie Stollings
(daughter of
Robert Pierce Stollings & Margaret Hunter)

Father of
1. Opal Frances Hager
2. Ernest Sidney Hager
3. Roy Thurman "Bill" Hager
4. Freda Delphia Hager
5. Naomi Jewel Hager
6. Lahoma Gradis Hager
7. Albert David Hager

He never drove a motor vehicle, walking everywhere, occasionally accepting a ride but usually passing from place to place by traveling through and over the mountains. Almost to the end in his late 90's, he was an avid ginseng gatherer, spending lots of time in the mountains. Surely an era passed when folks like Roy and Vallie were gone. Naomi and Gradis, along with their sister Freda, used to sing every weekend live on WLOG radio over in Logan, WV, back in the late 40's or early 50's. David (Davey) was very physically active, and loved to Coon hunt with his friends. Unfortunately, at a fairly young age, he was crippled in a roof fall in one of Westmoreland's coal mine, and spent the remainder of his life in a wheel chair. Davey was a great individual, who I enjoyed visiting with. (Provided by Debbie Clarkston, but not written by her)
