Albert Monroe Brickhouse, 59, of 1002 Roland Avenue, South Norfolk, died in Kecoughtan Hospital yesterday at 5:30 p.m. after a week's illness. A native of Gum Neck, N.C., he had resided in this area for the past 39 years. He was the son of Mrs. Pearl Sawyer and the late John W. Brickhouse. A merchant seaman, he was a member of F.I.U. Norfolk Local Union.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Downing Brickhouse; a daughter, Mrs. A.E. Hudgins, of Portlock; two sons, George A. Brickhouse of Norfolk and Maury Q. Brickhouse of Portlock; two sisters, Mrs. L.J. Waterberry of Newark, N.J. and Mrs. Alethia Klein of Los Alamos, N.M.; a brother, Lonnie P. Brickhouse of Newark and eight grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home of South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements.
