Surname actually used is uncertain. Her newspaper death notice spelled her last name as Abel. Her death certificate surname was spelled Able. However, her marriage record and family census records for 1870 and 1880 spell the surname Abell. Her future husband used the Abell spelling in the 1860 census and their last two children baptized at St. Lawrence Catholic Church were baptized using the Abell spelling.
She was the third wife of William M. Abell, marrying him in Daviess County, Kentucky on March 19, 1865. She had previously married Joseph H. Clements on April 3, 1853, also in Daviess County, Kentucky.
At time of death she was a widow. The cause of death was diabetes mellitus, with bronchitis listed as contributory.
She was buried in St. William Cemetery on October 4, 1912.
