BETHEA, MR. PHILIP PORTER, 95, Birmingham, died Friday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Elmwood Chapel, Dr. T. Oliver Clark and Dr. Dalon Friday officiating; burial in Elmwood Cemetery; Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home directing Mr. Bethea was a life long resident of Birmingham. A descendent of Corilla Porter Walker. He was a retired real estate broker, a charter member of Highland United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War I and member of American Legion Post #1. Survivor: wife, Mrs. Ruth Halbrook Bethea of Birmingham.
