When he was two years of age his mother passed away and he went to live with his grandparents.
At the age of five he moved to Glenwood with his father and grand-parents.
At the age of 26 he was united in marriage to Emma Vedwick. They moved to a farm west of Swanville and resided there until 1939. A few years later they moved to Brainerd where they resided until 1942, when they moved back to Swanville. In Sept. of 1943 he became bedridden and moved to the home of their daughter, Mrs. Harley Barber, where they resided until the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and ten children, four sons and six daughters, Oscar of Swanville, Sam of Seattle, Wash., Bertha (Mrs. Clifford Young) of Silverdale, Wash., Helen (Mrs. Al Lawson) Minneapolis, Ida (Mrs. Paul Zimmerman) Cyrus, Theodore of St. Paul, Josephine (Mrs. Harley Barber) Swanville, Ethel (Mrs. Walter Hoffman) Villard, Anna (Mrs. Palmer Rodine) Foley, and Cassel in the U.S. Army overseas; twenty three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Congregational church in Swanville, Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment was in Moses Dane cemetery at Burtrum.
