Darlene M. Peterson, 89, of Morgan Street, Falconer, passed away Tuesday (June 29, 2010), in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, she was born June 3, 1921, in Falconer, the daughter of the late Augustus Stewart and Alean Walker.
Darlene attended Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by the former Jamestown Nursing Home. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Falconer Plate Glass, retiring in 1989.
She enjoyed playing the piano, camping, spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and shopping for them.
Surviving is her daughter, Beverly Solinger of Lakewood; a son, Harland Martin of Charlotte, N.C.; two granddaughters: Cindy Ferraro of Jamestown, and Lori Barrett of W.E. Jamestown; four great-grandchildren: Shane Barrett, Chelsea Barrett, Melissa Ferraro and Jordan Ferraro; two half-sisters: Donna Ball and Marie Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Harold Peterson in 1963; a grandson, Gregory Scott Solinger; her stepmother, Charlotte Jones; three half-brothers: Harry, Robert and Richard Stewart; and a half-sister, Joan Brooks.
