BETTY CLARK HAZLETT
Betty Clark Hazlett, wife of Bert Hazlett, 35 Howard Ave., Oak View, Calif., died June 18, 1962, of a cerebral hemorrhage at the Ojai Community hospital, Ojai, Calif., where she had been a patient for three days. Prior to the stroke Mrs. Hazlett had enjoyed good health.
She was born Betty Davis, Jan. 14, 1892, at Bonaparte, Ia. She attended college in Iowa and taught school for a number of years in Iowa and Nebraska.
She married Lester Clark Jan. 30, 1915. He died at the family home in Chariton May 28, 1935. They owned and operated a restaurant in Chariton for 30 years.
Betty married Mr. Hazlett Aug. 10, 1960, and moved to the Ojai Valley, which she loved very much, and often said she would rather live there than any place in the world.
She leaves her husband, a son, Jack Clark of Billings, Mont., six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. W. R. Payne of Marked Tree, Ark.
She was a member of the Ojai Valley Community church and had been a member of the Lutheran church of Chariton.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, Elder W. R. Chandler officiated. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
