Graveside service forEULA RUTH MCCLAIN, 86, of Houston was Saturday, July 24th at 11:00 AM in the Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Randy Fitzgerald officiating.Ruth McClain died July 20th in Houston of failing health. She was born February 1, 1924 in Houston, Texas & was the beloved adopted daughter of Lander Labat & Eula Dumas Legett. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1943. She was a member of the Bellaire Central Baptist Church in Houston for 53 years and was a stay at home mom. She grew up in Corpus Christi where she met her husband of 49 years John Tom McClain. They met at the Naval Station in Corpus Christi and married in 1943. They moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1947 and then to Houston in 1957 where she lived the rest of her life. After her children had grown she worked in the business office of the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas for 10 years. Her favorite hobby was playing bridge with her friends. The family would life to thank Life Solutions Hospice and Clarewood House. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Tom McClain & son, John Franklin McClain.Survivors Include: Daughter & Son-in-law: Landa Ruth McClain & Roger Roitsch, Brother: John L. Legett, Grandchildren: Jonathan McClain & wife Melanie, Lindsey Landon & son Joseph, August Roitsch, Charles Roitsch & wife Jordie & Eva Roitsch. Daughter-in-law: Kathleen McClain Brother-in-law: Frank McClain & wife Ann Special Nephew: Hank McClain & wife Sue Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
