Marie Bailey, 81, died Oct. 15, 1999, at Good Samaritan Center, Superior

She was born Oct. 8, 1918, at Guide Rock, to Irvine and Mary (Perry) Woodward. She graduated from high school at Guide (NOTE: should be Guide Rock) in 1936. She married Clifford Bailey March 2, 1937, at Mankato, Kan.

She was a member of the Guide Rock Methodist Church and the Rotary Welfare Club. She and her husband were custodians at the Guide Rock schools for 18 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 20, 1997; brothers and sisters, Earl Woodward, Dora Hoins, Kenneth Woodward, Hazel Hoins and Clair Woodward.

Survivors include sons, Gerald, Paradise, Calif.; Kenneth, Guide Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Lamar VanBoening (Gloria), Lawrence, Neb.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Tuesday at the Methodist Church, Guide Rock, with the Rev. Anderson Kwankin, officiating. Burial was in the Guide Rock Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home, Red Cloud, was in charge of arrangements.
