On Monday, 23 May 2005, Milton Arthur Ratzlaff, 49 years old, passed away due to a drowning accident on Nacimiento Lake in Paso Robles, California.

He was born on Tuesday, 28 June 1955 in Oakland, California and was the son of Dick Milton Ratzlaff and Charlene Joyce (Smith) Ratzlaff.

Milton attended Jamestown Elementary School, as well as schools in Napa, Ione and San Luis Obispo and graduated from Sonora High School Class of 1973.

He worked for the California Department of Corrections at the Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, California where he made sergeant and went to the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo, California and was elevated to the rank of lieutenant.

Milton was active as a volunteer in the San Luis Obispo Sheriffs Search and Rescue Dive Team.

He was active in scouting and opened the Pendola Boy Scout Camp and played bugle for the scouts at taps and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Mr. Ratzlaff is survived by his parents, Dick Milton Ratzlaff and Charlene Joyce (Smith) Ratzlaff, his wife, Carol Ratzlaff, his brothers, John Charles Ratzlaff and Robert Lee Ratzlaff.
