Mary L. Ace, 74, of 1406 Prospect Ave., died unexpectedly Tuesday in Mercy Hospital. She was the wife of William K. Ace. Born in Nanticoke, daughter of the late John and Fannie Anthony Squarok, she was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a former member of Post 675, American Legion Auxiliary. She was a retired employee of the Cedar Throwing Mills, Cedar Ave., where she was a winder. Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanette Lewis and Maude Petroski, both of Scranton; two sons, Robert C, Lake Ariel, and William G.. Scranton; three sisters, Margaret Kalinowski, Anne Sulick and Miss Susan Squarok, all of Nanticoke; five brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Bernard and Walter, all of Nanticoke, and John, Ludlow, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, John C, and a brother, Michael. The funeral will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. from the Arthur E. and Brian A. Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch St., with the Rev. Edwin Martin, pastor, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Viewing, Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. ~Scranton (PA) Times, Wed 31 May 1989
