James Hershell Turley, 76 of Providence, died Wednesday, August 2, at his home.
He was a member of the Second Baptist church, a World War II veteran, past owner of Providence Auto Parts, former President of the Providence Golf and Country Club, and a member of Providence Masonic Lodge #148.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene; one son, Steve Turley of Clay; three daughters, Linda Turley Brown of Providence, Sandra McCully of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Karan Chamberlain of Evansville, Indiana; two sisters, Kathryn Smith and Mary Simpson, both of Evansville, Indiana; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11:00 from Melton Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Harrison officiating.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Providence.
