Rev. Carl Leyden Ameeley was a native of Lockport. He graduated from Lockport High School and Canisius College. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York on September 22, 1945.

He was assigned to the Missionary Apostolate at the Chapels at Our Lady of Grace, Leon and Christ the King, Kennedy. After several assignments as Assistant Pastor, he was appointed pastor of Immaculate Conception in East Bethany in 1965 and pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Wilson in 1967. He was 47 years old when he died.

He was survived by a cousin and an aunt.
