David Lee Logan was the son of Claude Logan and Lola O. Landers-Logan. He was a brother to Barbara Ann Logan.

David suffered a heart attack in an N.A.R.C., sprint car race at the Calistoga Speedway. He started out in jalopies and progressed to midgets and sprint cars. He was a very popular driver and had many fans.

Prior to the main event at Calistoga, Napa Co., CA, he suffered the heart attack, but passed away shortly thereafter. The race was won by Johnny Anderson. In that same race Ray Miscevich did a flip over and ended up in the hospital for a few days. In the July 5th race, Burt Miller was killed.

David had been the winner on September 1, 1968, that prior Fall season driving for Fred Mahoney's team #2, Bob DeJong came in second over Hank Butcher, Jan Opperman and Mike McCreary.

David was a dedicated driver who loved what he was doing. May he rest in peace.
