Husband of Sarah McKellip. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the 6th Maryland Regiment during the Civil War. He later practiced law in the city of Westminster, and later served as U.S. Consul in Magdeburg, Germany, where he died. His widow brought his body back to Westminster, to be buried in Westminster Cemetery.
