Passenger Dies From Car Crash Injuries
John Robert Blackwell, 23, passenger in a car which overturned Wednesday night, died of his injuries in Memorial Hospital yesterday morning.
He was taken to hospital after the accident and was immediately placed on the critical list. Mr. Mullinnix, driver of the car, was reported in improved condition last night and responding well to treatment. Mullinix, 19, 465 Trigood Drive, suffered a broken leg and other injuries in the accident.
Blackwell, his wife, and daughter, eight months, lived at 935 South Jackson.
Blackwell was born March 12, 1935, in Mitchell, Ind. He came to Glendo in 1943, where he attended elementary and high schools. He served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps following graduation. He moved to Casper three years ago, where he has been employed by the city sanitation department.
Blackwell married Lena Valentine in Thermopolis on May 20, 1956.
He is survived by his wife and daughter; his mother, Mrs. Leo Van Buskirk, of Casper; father, Harley Blackwell, Bedford, Ind.; sister, Jeanne Mills, Newcastle; two brothers, Noble Wayne Blackwell, with the Air Force at Lake Charles, La., and Harley Eugene Blackwell with the Air Force at Washington, D. C.
Seven step-sisters and brothers also survive.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Bustard Funeral Home.
